What's in a community? We will be discussing community helpers in the upcoming weeks. We have read books about being a teacher, fire fighter, construction worker, chef, veterinarian, police officer, etc..

If their are any parents out their who would be willing to discuss their career with the class and put on a small demonstration please feel free to write us a note. Thank you!

Je partage !

One of our classmates wanted to share his talent of playing the violin with us. Him and his mother did a special concert for us. We enjoyed their visit so much and we were so proud of our classmate for playing in front us. A big thank you for sharing your talent with us.

Math all around us !!

We having diving deep into math terms this week. Learning how to guess (devine) not using too big numbers or too little of a number. Talking about more than, less than and the same. (plus que, moins que et le meme que). Encourage your children to find patterns and explore math wherever you are (Eg. shapes, measurement and patterns).

Cooking is a great way to explore and learn about numbers and volume.
We celebrated spring by making kite shaped cookies!

Look at our creative minds !

One child started talking about Sharks and this is what happened.

We brought in some reading materials about the ocean and sharks (les requins)

At the end of the Magic school Bus book Mme. Friselis class painted a mural. Mlle. Little et Mme. Knapp wouldn't it be great if we made our own mural.

We had them draw a plan of what they would like in their ocean.

THIS IS THE END RESULT ! WOW

Il y a des poisson, une baleine et une barracuda.

Spring has arrived !! Hopefully !

In class we have started talking about seeds, parts of  flowers, all things spring, and what something needs to grow. We have been giving the great opportunity to visit the high school science class to observe and discuss the life cycle of a chicken.

We labelled all the parts

First you need some water to make the dirt pods grow.

We make a little whole with our finger and we put three flower seeds inside.

We are so excited to watch our flowers grow. If you have any planting materials you are not needing the children would be happy to continue planting and watching what will grow.

In just a few days our seeds have sprouted.

Music! Music! Music!

We are really lucky to have the opportunity to watch the Tecumseh Vista Secondary Orchestra. The conductor explained what instruments belong in an orchestra and their sounds.

The children got to ask questions such as "How do the kids know what to play?, How do they make instruments? How long do they practice?"

We even got to sing and dance to songs that were fast and had a good beat.

"Superstitious" by Stevie Wonder

We got excited because we could sing along to this one
"Moves like Jagger"

Peanut butter and Jelly concert by the Windsor Symphony

The students could not believe that this young violinist is only 5 years old.

Heidar got the chance to conduct the Windsor Symphony Orchestra Guests

We sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Wheels on the bus with some extra verses.
