Parent Homework

School boards are required to conduct anonymous school climate surveys of their students, parent/guardian/community, and staff every two years. In the GECDSB, we have developed our own survey with themes of anti-bullying, equity and inclusion and mental health. In 2013, we launched our students and the parent/guardian/community school climate surveys and we conducted our staff school climate survey in 2014.

Smile for the camera

We are hard at work in our early years class. There is magic happening in every corner of our classrooms. Throughout the year our class has continuously held an interest in photography. This week we began exploring our class through the lense of our classroom camera. We are very excited to share our final project with you.
A BIG thank you to all of our parents who have donated materials to help us expand this learning!

A celebrity guest visits TVA

Thanks M. Fullerton for organizing a visit from NHL New Jeresy Devil player Adam Henrique. The students enjoyed taking pictures and sharing their hockey knowledge.

Update our treading fashion

We have been extremely lucky to have Mrs.Gallager visit our classroom and provide us with assistance in creating our designs that we drew on paper. She has been extremely helpful and kind to the students in this stage of our projects. We have made a dress and a player jersey and that's just a start we are looking forward to what the days bring.

Winter Nature Walk

With large delicate snowflakes gently falling from the sky and a slight frosty breeze cooling our cheeks we explored where our new school trail leads to. After a short walk we discovered Mccauliffe Conservation Trail, familiar soccer fields and baseball diamonds!!!! We saw many animal tracks, birds nests, fallen leaves, seeds and nuts. We left with many questions and excitement to return. We even had a few that were tired:)

Fashion at it's finest.

Our passion for fashion continues to grow, as we explore all aspects of the fashion industry. Together we have begun to learn about different designers and discussed the different types of fashion we see around us. Individually we have begun designing our own garments. We have found inspiration from every corner of our lives. Our designs vary from haute-couture gowns, to new jerseys for our favourite sports teams.
This week we started practicing sewing techniques in preparation to bring our designs to life. We are looking for parents, grandparents, aunts or uncles who would be interested in helping us improve our sewing skills. If you or someone you know would be interested in volunteering, please let us know through your child's communication journal.
